A traditional brand, woken again with a kiss after 50 years. Higgins has reinvented the brand design for Lohbusch from scratch. Simultaneously nostalgic, emotive and contemporary.
In 1970, the last Lohbusch Bräu beer was served in Viersen, Germany. Almost 50 years later, the experienced master brewers Florian Ackens and Jan-Philipp Eccher have now brought Viersen’s traditional brand back to life. From the very start, the plan for this project was to combine the current trend for nostalgia with modern storytelling. To achieve this, we based the brand identity on authentic archetypes, while also successfully combining modern design with retro appeal. Seeing the finished product makes us particularly proud, from the logo, labels, packaging, glasses, merchandise, right up to the styling of the website.
